So I cannot even believe that I only have 7 more days of teaching, it feels like just yesterday that it was 80+! At the beginning, teaching was SO hard for me, I felt like I was bad at it, I would rush through my lessons and have 10 minutes left, and I had to get to the school at least an hour early to prepare and I would be so stressed out, but it has gotten SO much easier over time, and now I look love teaching the children, even if they are a little crazy sometimes! (or how they all want chili on EVERYTHING-cookies, cereal, fruit, ect!). But a week and a half til laying on the beach for a week! (and horseback riding, snorkelling, surfing, ect!). But it has been one of the best experiences of my life and I will be so sad to leave my Mexican home!

Cactus soup we made in culture class, soooo good!
Ready to go to the Rodeo in my new jeans!
I've noticed a pattern of mustaard yellow in my clothing lately, it is my new favorite color!

so delicious! Right before we got swarmed by the Mexican children!

The kids in my kinder class were being so cute today trying to twist the peanut butter lid off, so I pulled out my camera! I realized I have less than 5 weeks of teaching left, so I need to take more pictures! (This is Aran, he's 4 and SO cute and energetic!)

This is Maximus, at the beginning, he used to be super hyper and crazy and I could not handle him, but he has chilled out a lot and is super funny!

Edwardo, Dolce and Aran, stirring the peanut butter playdough!
Dolce- such a sweet girl, but so hard to get her to talk!
Kinder class from 6-8, the kids just starting the program, so they don't really know any English yet! From left to right: Hector, Nancy, Gonzalez, Santiago, Montessarat, Valentina, Kamilla, and Pablo!

Note to Self: Do not start running at 10am in the hot Mexican sun-will result in heat stroke and a very sunburnt nose!

New flower print dress from Garcia, and mustard yellow raybans from a street shop!

SO it has been ages since I have blogged, and I've missed it! So we only have 5 weeks of teaching left, 25 days left! SO crazy! The first day I was here, I cried and was determined to go home, and now the thought of leaving makes me sad! 5 weeks, that is going to go SO quick! Not to mention we are currently planning our week long trip at the end, which includes hostel w/ a pool beside the beach, surfing, snorkelling, laying on the beach/swimming in the ocean, horsebackriding on the beach, shopping, ect! I am SO excited! Then after that, its off to Philadelphia for a couple weeks to Eastie & Lu-Lu and Sarah, and a day trip to NYC to ride bikes through central park and see Newsies on Broadway!! I love life!

Friday night after teaching, all the ILP girls got together and we made popcorn and watched Hercules!

Walking home after the movie, this is what the streets looked like! Not to mention my feet slipped right out from under me and I plopped in a nice pile of mud!

Saturday we walked around several different markets ALL day, like from 11-6, walking and shopping! So we ended it with a stop at this Arabic taco restaurant!

SO good, but SO filling!

But I have decided to try and blog more often, because there are SO many adventures that happen here every day, and blogging forces me to take more pictures!!

my bedroom

lot's of shelf space!

Kaitlyn & I got to the school a little early one morning, so we had to wait for someone to come unlock it!

We walked to the grocery store (it's like wal-mart), and got delicious baked goods! We asked this old Mexican man to take our picture, and his finger cut off Sarah's face!

On the church grounds on Sunday- it was all in Spanish, but I loved it anways!

Outside the big Catholic Cathedral- so pretty! It reminded me of lot's of the churches I visited in Jerusalem

At the park! (we like to call it "make out park", because literally, P.D.A. in ALL forms in ALL ages is very widely accepted in public!

Swimming!

And today is our first day of teaching, I am getting sooo nervous, so I'd better go figure out my lessons for the week! Adios!

Mexcian Madness!

The Heslington school grounds

Outside the school. We teach in the small 5 classrooms on the bottom floor

Inside the biggest classroom, organizing all of our supplies!

Me & Carrie w/ our Weather sign that we have to use in opening. We are the only ones teaching the younger kids

The streets are so pretty, so many trees!

Just eating a Magnum bar in a park! (P.D.A is VERY accepted here, in ALL forms!)

Yummy pastel (cake)!

I just love all of the trees! They are so cute!

So it's been a very, very interesting adventure, very different than I thought in all aspects, but definitley a good learning experience, and I looove the weather! And we have our first 4 day vacation this coming weekend, so that will be a good break after a stressful 1st week of teaching!
