Skiing in a Winter Wonderland! (a.k.a Waterton!)

We went to Cardston to visit my grandparents on Wednesday, and on Friday we went cross country skiing in Waterton! It was my first time ever going and I LOVED it!

A "before" picture of everyone at the :Lows
Starting out!

The cute snowman at Cameron Lake
It was Jules & Andrew's 2nd Anniversary! (Dec 29th)
Sister's picture! We wished you were there Sarah!

I wasn't the most coordinated at it!
We love cross country skiing! We are going to buy some and go in Edmonton! (at least we will if we ever get more snow!)

We were copying the sign if you can't tell!

The whole group (minus mom, she was taking the picture!)

Amy loved it so much, that she made me & Karen wake up at 7:30am and go again the next day! But that's for another post:)

Philly Cheese Steak- Ghetto Style!

Since this is my first time to Philadelphia, I told Sarah that before I left I wanted to try a Philly cheese steak! So when we had the missionaries over for dinner on Sunday, they told us that the best place was in South Philly, and it was a little sketch, but by far the best place to get them! So today we got the adress from them, threw the kids in the van

Easton was excited!

and we ventured into unknown waters. Sarah kept telling me how scary and ghettoish it was going to be, and I thought hey, I've lived in Israel for 3 1/2 months, I'm sure it can't be any scarier than that! Little did I know!
This was the place, it was about 30 mins away. This is when we were sitting in the car, debating whether we should really go in or not! None of these pictures really do the place justice, but it really was super dodgy!

Easton was not too impressed!

We were both a little nervous!

I wanted to take a picture inside, but Sarah said I wasn't allowed because she thought they would get mad at us! So I didn't get to document the inside, but let's just say we did NOT fit in, and everyone in there was giving us the weirdest looks, (we were the only white people in there, everyone else looked like a legit gangster from a movie, with big puffy jackets with fur on the hood and there was about 10 guys just lining the doorway that we had to walk through to get to the deli!

I snapped this as we were driving away

Sarah had to get a steak with no cheese, because of her diary free diet cause of Lucy!

we got 2 large fries (one w/ cheese, one without), 2 cheese steaks (one w/ cheese, one without), and a burger, and it was only 10$!

Despite the fact that I could feel my arteries clogging as I ate it, it was SO good!

It was a fun adventure, and I would definitley recommend it if you ever come to Philly!

Last days in Jeru

Last time at the Garden of Gethsemane

We came to this spot on our very first field trip (when we had no idea where we were or what anything was!) and it was where Kaylie & I got our very first picture together, so of course we had to reinact it!

Last palm tree I was going to see for 5 months!

Garden Tomb

Giant santa in the old city!

I bought a big duffle bag so I could have room to take everything home, and I kept accidently wacking people with it because it was so big!

disgusting! (and yes, I carried that nativity ALL day! It was heavier than it looks!)

Western Wall

Dome of the Rock

Who doesn't love a giant manora?

mmm delicious pastries in the Jewish quarter

Last time in West Jerusalem

Last jelly filled donuts from the open Jewish market

I miss Jerusalem!
