I think I have a severe case. I need a doctor. 2 weeks? Where did my last 3 months go? It can't be December already. No. I'm not ready to leave! I mean, I have gone into the city every possible opportunity, but I'm not ready to forget the smell of the spices in the Muslim quarter, eat the warm jelly filled donuts in the Jewish Shuk, hear call to prayer 5 times a day, eat shwarma for lunch, give up my addiction to 10 shekel scarves, spend hours in the olive wood shops, spend sabbath in the Garden of Gethsemane, or leave my new, 80, American, best friends! Then again, the faculty also told us that most people never get to do or see what we have, even the locals who live here usually don't see as much as us, so I really should be counting my blessings instead of complaining about my lack of time here! And I am grateful, it has been an amazing experience, I just can't believe it's almost over!
On Monday we went to Tel Aviv for the day, because we knew it would probably be our last opportunity to go to a beach for a while! The water was a little chilly, but we made sandcastles, colleted sea shells, played frisbee, and sat on the beach wrapped in blankets watching the waves crash onto the shore! It made me miss Hawaii!
There were SO many beautiful shells on the beach, I wanted to pick ALL of them up!
I love these girls! Maddy, on the far right got proposed to by her boyfriend on the beach under the stars while we were in Galilee! (they came together!)
Jess frenchbraided my hair and I loved it! (I didn't get ready this day, but I loved my hair, so I took lots of pictures of the back of my head!)
We went out for dinner at a delicious, cute, outdoor restaurant
Scottie makes waterproof ipods, so we made him drop it in this glass of water so we could see it with our own eyes!
Kotel Tunnel- maybe one of my favorite field trips! A tunnel that goes in beside the Western wall and under it. There is one massive stone down there that weighs 570 tons! Thats equivelent to 2 turbo jet planes, fully fueled, loaded with people & luggage! And they still have no idea how they moved it 2,000 years ago!
I took this while walking back home! I love the JC!
This was in one of the hymnbooks we sang from when we visited a bunch of different churches in the Christian Quarter on our field trip.
At the church of the Holy Seplucher, another possible site for the death & burial of Jesus. What we are touching was the "center of the world" in ancient times.
In West Jerusalem, while our friends got directions to a restaurant, me & Lizzie were trying to look local
Crepes & hot chocolate in West Jeru! Sooooo delicious!
Well, I have to go practice the "For Good" song from Wicked (ugh, I HATE perfoming in public) I am singing with Suzy tomorrw night at the formal talent show, then I need to start my essay for New Testament, due tomorrow, and try to be in bed by 10! I can do that all in 45 minutes right?
