Mt. of Olives

So last Sabbath after church (which was amazing, I love fast sabbaths), we all walked over to the Mt. of Olives (a.k.a the Orson Hyde Garden), and we all got little bottles of olive oil from the olives we picked & pressed ourselves. Brother Skinner talked for a bit about the symbolism of olive oil and why it is used for the healing of the sick & afflicted (like the Garden of Gethsemane means "olive press"), and about all the prophets & apostles and of course Jesus, who have stood on the Mt. of Olives, looking over Jerusalem. It was way good, and then we broke into smaller groups & found quiet spots on the hill, and the boys consecrated the oil. Then we walked down to the Garden of Gethsemane & sang hymns. It was such a good sabbath, and it breaks my heart that we only have one more :(

The mt. of olives has my favorite overlook view of Jerusalem!

I love olive trees so much! I wish I could grow them in Canada:(!
