Something About the Dead Sea!!

So today we had such a cool field trip- we hit up Masada, swam in the Dead Sea, saw the waterfalls at Ein Gedi & saw some of the caves where the Dead Sea scrolls were found in Qumran!

                                               Masada

The view from the Gondola we took up to the top of Masada
When my class came around the corner, this is what the other class was doing! (Masada was where the Romans were attacking the Jews, so instead of being captured and made slaves, the fathers killed their families, then each other, then the last man fell on his sword. Only 2 women & 3 children were left when the Romans finally got into the fortress)

The Dead Sea!
All the rocks are covered in such a thick layer of salt, it's so cool!
The weirdest feeling ever, we could not put our feet down!

And of course we had to cover ourselves in the black mud! (which is super rocky, I felt like I was exfoliating my body when I put it on!)

It felt sooooo gross when it dried!

Some of the salty rocks!

We just threw our swimsuits out at the end! After the red sea, mediterranean sea, sea of galilee & the dead sea it wasn't worth taking back home!

Ein Gedi

The salt that I thought I had washed off in the shower!

I felt like I was back in Waterton! Only instead of deer, they are Ibex!
At Qumran- this is cave number 4, where some of the dead sea scrolls were found
